FAQ

Am I required to volunteer?

Many shareholders express a desire to help out on the farm, however it is sometimes difficultto fit into their busy schedules. Vollunteering is encouraged, but not required.

How can I volunteer?

We announce special volunteer days. Some shareholders regularly volunteer on a specific day each week. If you are available to help out, please give us a call. There is always lots to do.

How do I know what to do with vegetables that I am not familiar with?

Regularly we supply tested and tasty recipes with the weekly share.

What if I do not like a certain vegetable or I am already producing lots of a certain vegetable in my garden?

Just let us know, and we will do our best to substitute vegetables that we have surplus of.

What happens if I go away on holidays, or I don't pick up my box?

Shareholders usually find a friend to buy their weekly vegetables when they are away on holiday, or they give the bag to a friend. It is a great way to spread the news about the health and abundance of the vegetables offered by Alderlea CSA. It can also be given to a friend for an early birthday present. Some shareholders leave it to us to give their missed week of vegetables to a needy family or donate it to a local charity.

Can I give a gift of a Alderlea CSA membership?

Giving the gift of a CSA Membership to a friend or family member is a wonderful gift certificate and education for the recipient.
